Opening Spring 2026
01 · Arrival

A house at the edge of weather.

Twelve rooms above the Atlantic. A working farm, a long table, a coast that doesn’t forgive haste.

02 · Philosophy

The coast is the protagonist. Everything we build defers to it.

We did not arrive here looking to make a hotel. We arrived because the cliff was already a kind of architecture — granite hauled out of the Atlantic by ten thousand winters — and the only honest gesture was to stand back, listen for a long time, and build only what could stay.

VAGA is twelve rooms, a working farm, a kitchen that reads the tide, and a long stone table that seats whoever is here. There is no spa programme. There is no welcome cocktail. The day starts when the light does and ends when you put your boots down.

We think of the house less as a destination and more as a system — for slowing down, for paying attention, for re-learning a register that the world has misplaced. Calm, here, is operational.

Rituals
04b.i · Rituals

A day at VAGA is governed by light, not schedule.

Bread comes out of the oven at sunrise. The long table is laid at eight. The cliff walk is one hour before low tide. Nothing else is asked of you.

Dining
04b.ii · Dining

One kitchen. One menu. Whatever the boats brought in.

A single sitting at lunch and dinner. The menu is read aloud. The cook eats with you on Wednesdays. Wines are from four producers, all within 60 km.

Bathing & quiet
04b.iii · Bathing & quiet

The water is cold most months. That is the point.

A spring-fed stone bath, two saunas built into the rock, and the Atlantic itself if you're willing. No appointment system. No attendant. Towels are folded by the door.

07 · Reflection
A note, at the end

What we hope this place becomes, over time.

We do not want VAGA to be talked about. We want it to be remembered, occasionally, by the people who came — usually in the autumn, usually when the weather turns, usually as a feeling more than a place.

If the operational system above has done its work, you will not feel it. You will feel only the cliff, the bread, the slow shift from afternoon to evening, the second cup of coffee that you do not have to ask for. The system is in service of disappearing.

Everything else — the rooms, the menu, the rituals, the booking, this very document — is provisional. We will reflect again in twelve months. The house will tell us what to change.
